Psychosocial Oncology
Our team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurses who are committed to caring for patients with cancer. Our team members are experts in psychosocial oncology, and will help you and your family cope with the wide range of emotional stress and possible symptoms that can accompany a new cancer diagnosis, including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Insomnia
- Psychiatric side effects from treatment
- Psychosocial issues that may arise during cancer survivorship
We work closely with your oncologists, nurses, social workers and the entire oncology care team to ensure that you receive comprehensive cancer care that will help you and your family cope well during and after your cancer treatment.
We offer specialized psychiatric services for patients undergoing bone marrow (stem cell) transplants. Our psychiatrist is available to you before, during, and after your treatment to provide you and your family with emotional and social support you may need. We work closely with your entire stem cell transplant team to optimally coordinate your care.
