Community Outreach and Engagement Events

The Community Outreach & Engagement (COE) team at the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) works within our communities to provide outreach and education – visiting health fairs, partnering with clinics, faith groups, and schools, and providing culturally responsive cancer education across our catchment area. At these events, our COE team members share evidence-based information on cancer risk reduction, screening, treatment, and survivorship, and help connect community members to services that reduce barriers to care.

In addition to on-the-ground outreach, the COE team also hosts events like the Cancer and Environment Forum, a one-day, CME-accredited discussion that translates the latest science on environmental carcinogenesis into practical guidance for healthcare providers and community partners.
