Dr. Jai Radhakrishnan, MD, MS is a Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and a nephrologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He provides comprehensive care for patients with complex kidney disease, with particular expertise in rare and glomerular disorders, including focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, lupus nephritis, ANCA vasculitis and IgA nephropathy, as well as the clinical spectrum of hypertension-related kidney disease. His clinical approach emphasizes accurate diagnosis, longitudinal risk assessment, and individualized therapy grounded in evidence and shared decision-making.

Dr. Jai Radhakrishnan has received multiple institutional teaching honors, including the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching, Fellow of the Year at Columbia-Presbyterian, Junior and Senior Attending of the Year in the Department of Medicine, the Ewig Clinical Education Award, the Daniel V. Kimberg Memorial Teaching Award, and the Charles W. Bohmfalk Award for Excellence in Pre-clinical Teaching at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons; he was also named to the Glenda Garvey Teaching Academy and the Academy of Clinical Excellence.
He has been recognized for patient care and professional excellence through listings in Best Doctors in America, New York Times Magazine Super Doctors, and Castle Connolly Top Doctor (NY Metro Area) and America’s Top Doctor, as well as New York Magazine Best Doctors, and he was selected as Faculty of the Year by Faculty of 1000; he also delivered the 36th Annual Conrad L. Dr. Jai Radhakrishnan’s clinical expertise centers on complex glomerular diseases including focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, IgA nephropathy, membranous nephropathy, lupus nephritis, and vasculitis, with a long-standing focus on precision approaches to rare kidney disease and biopsy-informed management.
He also has deep expertise in the evaluation and treatment of chronic kidney disease, , and cardiorenal syndromes, integrating advanced volume management strategies across inpatient and outpatient care.
