Leyla Bayat, MD, is a medical oncologist and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. She specializes in the treatment of breast and gynecologic malignancies, and her practice is located at New York-Presbyterian Westchester’s Cancer Center in Bronxville, NY. A native to Westchester, Dr. Bayat is committed to the growth and accessibility of comprehensive, top-quality cancer care for the community which she serves. Her dedication to the improvement of her patients’ experiences with cancer treatment derives from personal experiences within her family which shaped her from a young age. She therefore aims to not only offer optimal treatment of disease, but also to implement thorough management of side effects related to therapy, as well as align these treatments with her patients’ values. Dr. Bayat’s focus on women’s health stems from her undergraduate education at Barnard College of Columbia University. She received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. She served her fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
